Product Description

The Donegan OptiVISOR is a hands-spare, headband binocular magnifier that has optical bifocals lenses that are ground and polished into prismatic lenses for eminence and clarity, and is available in multiple dioptric strengths (indicated by the compute in the model) which provide specific magnification power (X) at sui generis focal lengths, or distance from object. This magnifier enhances the gauge and resolution of an object or image, and is commonly familiar for a variety of applications such as jewelry-making, guard- making, needlework, artwork, electronic inspection, tome-reading, print inspection, and stamp-collecting.

The OptiVISOR magnifier features replaceable binocular lenses that have beveled edges that are mounted in an interchangeable chintzy frame. The magnifier weighs 0.67 lbs., and comes housed in a watchful shell and carrying case. It has a one-year minimal warranty.

Diopter (D) is a technical term for the size of the light curvature and thickness of a lens. A dioptric thousand and a magnification number are not the same thing. Diopter weight represents a specific magnification power (X). For illustration, a 5-diopter provides 2.5X magnification (at a aloofness of 8”). See the magnification chart. The higher the diopter, the more heightening a lens can provide. As magnification increases, interval to the object (focal length), and field of in consideration of (diameter, or narrowness of view) decreases. Magnifiers and medicine eyeglasses have a diopter value, such as 1.5 or 2. The dioptric soundness of an accessory lens, such as prescription eyeglasses or an eye loupe, must be added to the dioptric nerve of the magnifier to calculate total magnification.

Magnifiers are devices in use accustomed to to enlarge the visual appearance of an object or typical example. Magnifiers come in a variety of styles such as within arm's reach-held, headband, standing, clip-on, eye loupe, and those that persist in a necklace form, or fit in a trouser pocket. Magnifiers are commonly made of unformed or glass. They can have one or more lenses with varying magnification abilities, and can have a binocular configuration with a individual lens, or two separate lenses. They are sometimes used with LED or fluorescent light sources to pinch control viewing capabilities. Magnifier skill is often expressed as magnification at a specific length. For norm, 1.75X at 14” means that when a magnifier is held at 14” from a viewer’s eyes, the take a stand against will be magnified 1.75 times (X) its actual largeness. As magnification increases, viewing areas and focused length decrease. Magnifiers sometimes have a diopter number, expressed as + or -D, which is a amount of strength (or power) of the lens. Some magnifiers are signal with a dioptric number on the lens. A high diopter legions has a higher magnification than a low diopter number. Aspheric magnifiers, far from spheric magnifiers, produce a sharp perception to the edge of the lens for less distortion. Magnifiers are greatly used in jewelry inspection and fabrication, timepiece-making, needlework, artwork, reading, print inspection, and document-collecting.

Best Lighting for Needlework?

I am an avid stitcher crisp and wondered what is the best lighting. I need a very bright light close to distinguish between colors. Thank you!

For the needle it takes a lot of insight on the order of 50-60 foot-candles. If you are a person over that.

For color, make sure the light has a clear path of what you see and are not filtered or reflected reveal a lamp or a wall that has some color to it. This will "change" the way light makes some colors.

Ideally, you have two light sources, one on each side of you to fulfill any observation caused by your hands. An example with a desk lamp adjustable arm to take a typical "light bulb". I would replace it with a 60-watt PAR20 Halogen Flood compromise fire. They are usually available at home and filing labeled "Track Lights. Present at the one lamp probably give you twice as much light as a standard incandescent bulb halogen technology is more efficient and directional optical blur will be more light on the task.

In theory, the two technologies and hologen incandescent 99% have a color rendering so that the only way to get better is to go in the sun.

I have an OTT light, it is accessible for use in evaluation Antique Roadshow, when watching this program, is the light they were flexible on the front tables, objects they put in front of cameras.
This is a high price for light, but the value of money, especially when I'm doing crosstich work with beads.
The information in this light is on tap to OTT-LITE Technology in the net.
