What kind of batteries are best for a model rocket launch controller?

I am planning on building a new model rocket launch controller, and I need help deciding what type of batteries to use. The controller will 150ft son of 16-gauge prevailing with rockets and three buttons / switches on the controller itself. What type of batteries and the voltage would I need to ensure a good start every time? I do not use a car battery and I heard that the 12v batteries AA would not do the job. Thank you for any help.
May I suggest that stranded (not solid) 18 AWG is better. Also you need a lock-out security and one-touch firing switch / button, and not 3. Stay honest. Keep it safe.
150 feet of wire? You must be the launch of a large rocket. Better check that you are in Tripoli and NAR guidelines. 6 volts is equal to 4 AA rechargeable batteries Why not use it? Change his mind yet ... why not invest in a small lantern rechargeable 12 volt battery? This will last 50 -100 starts without recharging. It will be enough power is safe for your launch.

You should consider using a heavy battery if you need to push as far amperes. Look into using a 12v sealed acid-men, like that used in an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or an alarm system. You can find these in some electronics stores such as Spread Shack, or you can get online (but of course, shipping is a bear). May you also be able to find them in specialty stores such as batteries extra battery.
Otherwise, you can use a lawn tractor battery. Stilll It gives you plenty of power and you can run almost anything. And they are tolerant in the refill. Many clubs rockets using this method.
Good luck, fly safe and have fun!
