knitting stitches?

I knit a successful launch (mattress) and I'm looking for a single point of use, something not too difficult, but more interesting than streaks or Stockinette. I was philosophical about it: http://www.knittingonthenet.com/stitches / daisy.htm but I'm still not sure. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

check your library for one of the "encyclopedias Knitting" by Barbara Walker. they were printed for a time, the first three are the most useful, and they have an incredible number of beautiful stitches for all kinds projects.

Suppress knitting magazines (your library in May have some) for points of interest - you can use anywhere in all that you want to do.

if you like knitting, reading _knitting without tears_ by elizabeth zimmerman. it's wonderful to read and hard to teach information and inspire you to create your own drawings, or change others.it might be the best book ever knitting.

information about your local store to son - the son of knitters in any shop I've been always glad to help.

This is a basic credibility. Knit a sample to see how many points you'll need to throw in order to make it in the proportions you want. You can also use it as a point function and mix with other stitches for a different look.

What are some good websites that teach you different stitches in knitting?

I'm a beginner in knitting, and I would like to learn how to do particular styles of stitch besides the stockinette stitch and the knit stitch while making a scarf. A website that tells you how to do it would be greatly appreciated, notably if that site offers training videos! Best answer gets 10 points! =)

Well, technically, there are only two stitches in knitting...that is: intertwine and purl. Everything else is just variations of that ie: knit one row, purl one row is stockingnet stitch; knit every row is garter stitch; knot one stitch, purl one stitch is 1x1 rib, etc. Stockingnet, garter and ribbing are not, technically speaking, stitches. They are stitch patterns that are made up by the two stitches, join and purl, in different combinations.

There's also techniques in knitting, such as increasing, decreasing, and various lacy knitting techniques such as YO's (tale overs), Sl (slip a stitch) etc.

For these things, I would go to :

http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/learn -to-knit

It has lots of videos on most all of the commonly worn techniques, and I would recommend it for any beginner. It does have a few stitch patterns. Most of the time, though, if you have a pattern, the stitch repetition is written in.

There's also Ravelry, which is a knitting community with lots of forums full of helpful knitters to answer your questions and a incredible pattern browser which makes it simple to search the internet for free patterns. You have to sign up, and hold-up a bit for approval, but it's worth it. You can find that site here:
